Xamarin is proud to announce our sponsorship of MonkeySpace 2013, the official cross platform and open-source .NET conference that takes place at the end of this month.

monkey-in-spaceMonkeySpace brings together a unique blend of open source software developers and expert .NET enthusiasts, creating an atmosphere that is wholly unlike any other .NET conference. It offers a great opportunity to learn about new and innovative projects that are reshaping the contours of the .NET landscape. This year, MonkeySpace is hosted in the heart of .NET country: Chicago, IL, at Columbus College. The venue overlooks the beautiful Grant Park, steps away from The Bean.

This year’s schedule includes over 40 sessions covering open source, community, and .NET development—with more than dozen tackling mobile-specific topics.  The organizers have assembled an amazing list of speakers with expertise in open source topics ranging from mobile, to desktop, to server, and embedded. Some highlights include a keynote by Erik Meijer, a general session featuring Xamarin’s own Miguel de Icaza, and a talk by Microsoft’s Scott Hanselman and Chris Walker of SecretLabs.

monkeysquareXamarin is also sponsoring the MonkeySpace hacking lounge, where we’ll have some cool projects to hack on. You can look forward to hanging out with a healthy number of Xamarin employees who are attending and speaking at the event. If you’re a Xamarin developer, but haven’t signed up to attend yet, you should register now. Special hotel rates for conference attendees are available through July 5th.
