Today we are very excited to announce the launch of Xamarin University, an online, instructor-led training program designed to teach you the fundamentals of cross-platform mobile development with Xamarin. Xamarin University features live, online training by expert Xamarin developers, conducted in small groups, and includes lectures and lab exercises, with plenty of personal attention from your instructor. Training is delivered in 1-3 hour modules at multiple times per week, so you can attend from anywhere in the world without disrupting your busy schedule.

The first course we are offering through Xamarin University is called “Go Mobile,” and is designed to take a competent C# developer to mobile proficiency in four weeks. To participate in Go Mobile training, we ask that you dedicate 5-6 hours per week for classes, lab work, reading and coding. After one month, you will be well prepared to develop your first production-quality native mobile app.

The Go Mobile training includes:

  • More than 20 hours of live online training from mobile experts

  • Two, one-hour 1-on-1 coaching sessions with a mobile developer

  • Many dozens of on-demand videos, tutorials, labs and code samples

  • A dedicated forum for Go Mobile developers

The curriculum covers the following topics:

  • iOS and Android Fundamentals

  • The Mobile App Lifecycle

  • Native UI and Controls

  • Cross-platform Architecture

  • Mobile Best Practices

  • Secure Backend Integration

  • Advanced topics such as memory management best practices

  • And more…

At the end of the course, you can take the Xamarin Certified Developer certification exam. Xamarin skills are increasingly in demand—this certification lets the world know that you represent top Xamarin talent.

Training begins in January, and “Go Mobile” seats are limited, so sign up today. Stay tuned for more announcements about additional Xamarin University classes!
